Flu shot clinic Thursday, October 4th - 3pm-6pm

I plan to offer in-school shots earlier in the day for those interested. We can set up in the commons area during the  Philip vs Faith VB game - Heidi Burns

 

FOR SALE:  Philip Scotties Stadium Seats - $10.00 – please bring cash to the HS office if you are interested in purchasing one.  These seats were donated to PHS. Proceeds will go into the athletic fund which is used for needs of the Scottie students.

Reminder:  Log into the parent portal to update your information so we have it the most current and correct info.  Please see notes above for new URL information.

Friday, September 21 - Philip Homecoming parade:   Make sure your child has the permission form back to his/her teacher.

The parade starts at 2:00 P.M. The parade route will be different this year...we will be lining up at Midwest Coop (enter at Midwest Coop) with the first float (Color Guard) being on the road south of Noteboom's Body Shop.  The parade will be going down Main Street and down Pine Street ending at the Legion Hall.  All students will return to the school after the parade.  Your child then may be picked up or walk home if they live in town.  If you are picking up your child after the parade you must do so at the school.  If your child is not picked up or they do not have the signed permission form for their teacher to let them walk home, they will stay in their classroom and be dismissed at 3:30.

 

Each Sunday night @ 7:00 PM, Low Lunch Balance Reminder messages through Campus will be sent out to all who have lunch/milk break charges.   Parents:  You should choose your delivery preference in your Portal - the Emergency messages will be school closing (weather related); lunch reminders are General Messages.  Call Pat or Kathy if you need help or have questions.  

South Dakota requires all 6th grade students to have:

  1. One dose of Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap) vaccine on or after the 11th birthday
  2. One dose of Meningococcal (MCV4) vaccine on or after the 11th birthday

Reminder to Parents

All Haakon School District residents that have children ages birth to 5 years old are encouraged to call the Philip Elementary Office (859-2001) to inform the school of their children’s names, date(s) of birth, age(s), parent’s names, current mailing address, and contact information. This information will be used to contact parents for Haakon School District’s child find/preschool screening that is held every spring. With this data, the District will contact parents with information concerning this event. You may call Pat at 859-2001 in the elementary office Monday through Thursday. Thank you for your help and cooperation.

State B Wrestling Tickets are on sale NOW - the PHILIP SCOTTIES ticket order will be mailed January 26th!  Adult All Tournament - $45.00; Student (grades 1st-12th) General Admission all tournament ticket - $25.00 Kindergarten or younger are admitted free, but not necessarily provided a seat in the reserved section without a ticket.

High School Juniors and Seniors - The SD Highway Patrol and the American Legion are sponsoring a free Youth Trooper Academy to be held June 26-30, 2017.  Applications are due March 26th, and can be picked up in Mrs. DeJong's office.

High School Junior Boys - The 75th annual Boys State Convention will be held May 29-June 2 in Aberdeen.
 The online application is available at http://www.SouthDakotaBoysState.com and is due March 15th.

High School Juniors - Apply to attend the free West Central Electric Trip to Washington DC June 8-15.  See Mrs. DeJong for an application which is due no later than February 17th. 

Wednesday, April 19th - Meeting for all interested in going out for wrestling in 17-18 season meet at 12:23 in Mr. Donnelly's office.

Seniors:  if you think you qualify for the Honor Athlete White Letter you need to see Mrs. Menzel - applications are due May 4th...
