Philip Junior High School Information

Philip Junior High is School Wide Title 1 school.

A school wide program is a comprehensive reform strategy designed to upgrade the entire educational program in a Title I school; its primary goal is to ensure that all students, particularly those who are low-achieving, demonstrate proficient and advanced levels of achievement on state academic achievement standards. This school wide reform strategy requires that a school do the following:

  • Create a planning committee;

  • Conduct a comprehensive needs assessment;

  • Identify and commit to specific goals and strategies that address those needs;

  • Create a comprehensive plan; and

  • Conduct an annual review of the effectiveness of the school wide program and revise the plan as necessary.

Adopting this strategy results in an ongoing, comprehensive plan for school improvement that is owned by the entire school community and tailored to its unique needs.

So that parents will better understand our Junior High Program and how they may become actively involved, we have addressed key areas of concern in the Parent /Family Engagement Plan below. Please feel free to discuss any questions, comments, or suggestions you may have about this plan with Vicki Knutson, our Title 1 Director, your child’s teacher, or Mandie Menzel, the Junior High Principal. We welcome your input and suggestions!
