State FFA - Students Represent PHS

The Philip FFA members had a busy time while competing at the SD State FFA convention in Rapid City.

*Sunday, April 11, the seniors received their state degree. Those seniors were Kelcey Butler, Jadyn Coller, Brett Daly, Cody Donnelly, Cedar Gabriel, Taylor Hanson, Jasmine Hiatt, Jesse Hostutler, Hudson Johnson, Noah Johnson, Bobbi Kammerer, John Piroutek, Kelton Quinn, and Riley Schofield. At this session is also when John Piroutek and Kelcey Butler both received a scholarship. Congratulations!
*Monday was competition day and also the kids got time to walk around the career fair. We had lots of different competitions that the kids competed in. At Monday night’s session the members got to watch retired ag teacher, Doug Hauk, receive his honorary state degree. Congratulations Doug!
*At Tuesday’s closing session the awards from the events were announced and multiple teams made top 10.
-AG Mechanics - 1st place team (National Qualifiers), Carson Daly 3rd individual, Kelton Quinn, Alex Skow, and Dane Daly 
-Range ID - 3rd place team, Hudson Johnson 6th individual, Gracie Fitzgerald 8th individual, Cedar Gabriel 10th individual, and Jadyn Coller
-Floriculture - 7th place team, Jasmine Hiatt 8th individual, Bobbi Kammerer, Kelcey Butler, and Leah Staben
-Veterinary Science - 6th place team, Autumn Skow, Riley Schofield, Ember Gabriel, and Maisy Slovek
-Natural Resources - 10th place team, John Piroutek, Noah Johnson, Asher Peterson, and Jyntre Coller

-Meat Science: Jesse Hostutler, Parker Snyder, Brett Daly

-Livestock Judging: Cody Donelly, Jess Jones, Colden Kramer, Myles Clements

-Ag. Business: Bobbie Jarvi, Allison Williams, Cass Finn, Gage Ravellette
